Native New Yorkers Steve and Stacie found a beachfront vacation home in St. Pete Beach that falls within their budget but needed some serious TLC. They wanted a home near St. Pete Beach with plenty of outdoor space, a master suite and a spacious garage for Steve’s motorcycle projects.

Chain link fencing and uneven ground made the old backyard anything but inviting. Steve and Stacie increased their budget to allow for exterior renovations and an outdoor hangout spot. After leveling out the backyard, new pavers were laid to create two patio areas off the garage and the kitchen. This seating area off the kitchen is the perfect spot for happy hour drinks before dinner under the stars.

With two small bedrooms on the first floor, Steve and Stacie realized they would need to build up if they wanted their ideal master suite. With plans in place to rebuild the garage, it made sense to start from scratch with a second floor master suite and balcony above it.

Rebuilt from the ground up, the new garage has a warm, terra cotta-colored floor and bright white, water-resistant paint over the cinderblock walls. Steve and Stacie got their dream bedroom, bathroom and massive walk-in closet by thinking creatively and building from scratch on top of the new garage. Porcelain, “wood look” tile gives the bedroom a luxurious feel while keeping cleanup from a day at the beach hassle-free.
